Description

For sale is an Iroquois false face mask.  This mask was distributed by Iroqrafts of Six Nations Grand River Country of Ontario, Canada. Within Iroquois culture, these masks are considered ‘living representations of spirits’ and used for religious ceremonies.  These particular masks were not used in ceremonies but rather, created by artists.  It is how they make a living.  I have 5 of masks for sale:  These masks were purchased at an auction which acquired them from a storage locker.  Each one has a tag from the Iroqrafts Six Nations explaining the function of each mask as well as a number on the left side under the hairline. The masks have the Iroquois mask characteristics of red &/or black paint, horse hair, deep set eyes accented with metal, and made with basswood.

This Hang Lie mask  is made by `Raw body’ from the Onondaga Nation and the Deer Clan.  It is 11 1/2 X 7 inches and in very good condition.

I have been selling AUTHENTIC Northwest Coast Masks since 1999 on line so buy with confidence.
