Description

For sale is a Northwest Coast carved and painted Frog Bowl. The bowl displays the frog characteristics of a large mouth, thick lips and legs with toed feet in a flexed position.

Frog is a creature of great importance in Northwest Coast art & culture. As a creature that lives in two worlds, water and land, the frog is revered for its adaptability, knowledge and power to transverse worlds and inhabit diverse realms, both natural and supernatural.  Frogs are also primary spirit helpers of shamans.

On the base is the following inscription “Family of frogs a blessing of healing for the heart, soul, mind and body. Hand carved by Norman Charlie Squamish Nation 2014″.

The bowl is 10 1/4″L X 5 1/4 ” W X 7 1/2″ 3 1/4″ H and in excellent condition.
