Description

For sale is an authentic Cree Birch Biting artform. This unique process is achieved by the artist selecting a special piece of birch bark which is folded. The image is formed by gently biting the bark between the teeth.

This traditional art was created by Angelique Merasty of Denare Beach, Saskatchewan.  She is the only person still practicing this sophisticated imagery today.  Her images are drawn from the natural environment. The Museum of Anthropology at UBC has several pieces of her work on display.

This piece is beautifully framed in a shadow box ready for hanging.  The frame is 13 X 18 inches and the bark is 6 X 4 1/2 inches.

Thank you for looking and please browse & follow my store as new art is being added weekly.
