Daphne Odjig was the only female member of the Indian Group of Seven that initially made up the new Eastern Woodlands School of Canadian art. She stood out from the men in the group, in that her images were most often emphasizing womanhood and family as opposed to native spirituality. Daphne has been honored and achieved many awards, commissions, and credits. She has also shown in individual and group exhibitions too numerous to mention and her work is sought internationally by many collectors. Daphne`s earlier works are difficult to find and this one is a nice example.
