For sale is a handspun woven Neru Indonesian tribal textile from the Nusa Tenggara group of islands.
These islands, (Bali, Timor, and Sumba) create a wide variety of woven, embroidered and resist dyed techniques to prepare fabrics of great ingenuity and beauty.
This tapestry uses the ancient supplementary warp patterned textiles and has red, white blue white and red lateral borders on each side, with ‘dancing men’ motif design in the middle and each end has fringes.
This piece is 87 inches long with one end measuring 34′ and the other end measuring 39″ in width.
There are two pieces sown side by side as shown in the photos.
This woven tribal textile is in very good condition.
