Description

For sale is a Northwest Coast cedar carving by renowned NWC master carver Henry Hunt  (1923-1985).
 Henry Hunt is the descendant of George Hunt.
Henry is the father of the artists Henry, Jr., Shirley Ford, Tony, Richard, and Stanley Hunt.

He and Tony Hunt, his eldest son, carved a memorial pole to Mungo Martin at Alert,  B.C., in 1970–71.

This carving depicts a hawk man figure riding a killer whale with bear image on the dorsal fin.

Hawk man to KW is 15″ in length (the base is 19 1/2″ L) X width of figure 2 3/4″ ( base is 7 1/2″ W).
The dorsal fin by itself is  6 3/4″ H.
This carving is signed “Henry Hunt 1979”.
